Last month, we learned that Microsoft was nearing the launch of the Surface Laptop 4, featuring both Intel and AMD configuration options. We now have more details, as Microsoft went live early with support pages for these unannounced laptops.
According to WinFuture, the Surface Laptop 4 will include Ryzen 4000 mobile series CPUs, not the more expensive Ryzen 5000 mobile SKUs that were announced earlier this year. Specifically on the AMD front, options for the Ryzen 5 4680U and Ryzen 7 4980U will be included. Meanwhile on the Intel side, Microsoft will apparently be offering the 11th Gen Intel Core i5-1145G1 and Core i7-1185G7.
Other specifications include a 2256×1504 3:2 display on the 13″ model and a 2496×1664 display on the 15″ model. We can also expect up to 16GB of RAM on AMD models and up to 32GB of RAM on Intel models, as well as 512GB (AMD) or 1TB (Intel) of SSD storage.
As spotted by The Verge, Microsoft has also put placeholder support pages up on its website for the Intel and AMD versions of this laptop, confirming last month's report. There is also reason to believe that there will be a Surface event next week, during which, the Surface Laptop 4 will be officially announced by Microsoft. With that in mind, we should have plenty more details in the coming days.
