It has been a couple of weeks since CD Projekt Red began rolling out Patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077. It turns out, not all the changes made to the game were mentioned in the lengthy patch notes, as dataminers have begun uncovering new content in the game files.
A modder and dataminer known online as “romulus_is_here” recently discovered that the patch also added a number of new hidden quests to Cyberpunk 2077. Speaking with Eurogamer, they explained that Cyberpunk's quests are split into three categories numbered “q000” to “q204”, which covers the main quests from the prologue to the epilogue. Now after the latest patch, there are new quest files named “story-ep1” and numbered in the “q301” range. This appears to be our first hint of upcoming story DLC.
Through datamining efforts new files are consistently being discovered, with 220 new files found so far since the release of Patch 1.2. Looking closer at the files, romulus believes that many of these quests will centre around Pacifica, the district in Night City ran by Mr. Hands.
So far, CD Projekt Red has mainly focused on discussing bug fixes publicly when addressing Cyberpunk 2077, but the company is still moving forward with plans for free DLC and paid expansions. Unfortunately, there is no word on when we may finally see this new content in action.
