Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition arrives next week with extensive graphical enhancements

Back in February, 4A Games announced that it would be releasing an Enhanced Edition of Metro Exodus, complete with a ton of graphical upgrades. Now, just a couple of months later, we have our first look at the new version in action, as well as a release date.

Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition is coming on the 6th of May, as a free update to those who already own the game on PC. The enhancement list is huge, boasting re-worked ray-tracing effects, improved temporal reconstruction technology, emissive lighting, ray-traced reflections, 4K textures and support for Nvidia DLSS 2.0, a big upgrade over the original DLSS technology that shipped with Metro Exodus the first time around.

Below, you will find an extensive video from the folks at Digital Foundry showing off the Enhanced Edition in all of its glory:

The upgrade is so extensive that the game's minimum and recommended system requirements have been updated. As you can see in the image below, you are going to need a very powerful PC to max out this new version of the game.

Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition releases on PC on the 6th of May. The game will also be coming to next-gen consoles later this year and promises to run at 4K/60FPS.
