Corsair MP600 PRO 2TB SSD Review

Rating: 9.0.

Corsair's second-generation flagship PCIe Gen4 drive is the MP600 PRO, which uses Phison's 2nd generation PCIe Gen4 controller, the E18, together with 3D TLC NAND to produce a drive capable of up to 7GB/s sequential reads. We find out whether or not this SSD can justify the £360 asking price.

The MP600 PRO is available in just two capacities (at the time of writing), 1TB and 2TB. At the heart of the drive is a second-generation Phison PS5018-E18 8-channel controller which looks after, in the case of the flagship 2TB drive, eight packages of Micron 96-layer 3D TLC NAND and a pair of DDR4 cache modules.

Officially the 2TB Corsair MP600 PRO is rated at up to 7,000MB/s for Sequential reads and up to 6,550MB/s for Sequential writes and with 4K random performance listed as up to 660,000 IOPS for reads and up to 800,000 IOPS for writes (QD32), it's the fastest Corsair drive to date.

Corsair quote a TBW endurance figure for the 2TB drive of 400TB which works out around 0.1 DWPD. The drive is backed by a five-year warranty.

We've already looked at the MP600 Hydro X, which is the same SSD but with a watercooling solution. You can find that review HERE.
