Microsoft announces combined Xbox and Bethesda conference

With E3 rapidly approaching, video game developers and publishers are beginning to advertise their respective conferences and game showcases. With the recent acquisition of Bethesda by Microsoft, some fans wondered how the console manufacturer would handle future showcases. It has now been revealed that Xbox and Bethesda will combine their conferences, making a 90-minute E3 show.

Making the announcement on its blog, Microsoft said “Today, we are thrilled to announce the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase will stream on Sunday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m. PT [6pm UK time]. The show will be focused on games from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and many game creators from our partners around the world.”

Offering further details on the showcase, Microsoft claimed that “You’ve told us how excited you are about welcoming Bethesda into the Xbox family, so we know you’re going to want a front-row seat to the Xbox & Bethesda Games showcase – a 90-minute show packed with everything you want to know about the epic gaming lineup coming out of this partnership, the incredible games coming to Xbox this holiday, upcoming releases on Xbox Game Pass, and more.”

Historically, Bethesda and Xbox would each host their own E3 events. With the console manufacturer now owning Bethesda, fans were wondering whether the two events would remain separate or if they would be collated into one showcase. With 90 minutes of both Xbox and Bethesda announcements, it leaves very little time for filler content, suggesting a jam-packed E3 showcase.
