AMD launches Radeon RX 6000M mobile GPUs

AMD is kicking off Computex with new GPU announcements. Today, AMD is launching the Radeon RX 6000M series of mobile GPUs, featuring RDNA 2 architecture, Infinity Cache and support for features like Smart Access Memory, SmartShift, Radeon Chill and the FidelityFX tool suite.

This launch is part of a new initiative AMD is calling the AMD Advantage Design Framework, a badge that will indicate which gaming laptops pack both a Radeon RX 6000M series GPU and a Ryzen 5000 series processor, as well as support for features like FreeSync and AMD smart technologies.

The Radeon RX 6000M series utilises the RDNA 2 architecture, leading to up to 1.5x more performance compared to the previous generation, or alternatively, the same performance while using 43 percent less power. The flagship RX 6800M targets 1440p gaming at 120Hz, while the RX 6700M targets 1440p at around 100 frames per second. Finally, the RX 6600M targets 1080p at 100 frames per second.

Here is the specification table for AMD's new RX 6000M GPUs:

AMD has already begun working with its partners to ensure the RX 6000M appears in new laptops, including full ‘AMD Advantage' models from the likes of ASUS ROG and HP.

The RX 6000M series wasn't AMD's only Radeon-related announcement today. The company also announced the launch of FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), which you can read more about, HERE.
