The Rogue Prince of Persia to get visual overhaul in upcoming update

The Rogue Prince of Persia launched in Early Access back in late May to a positive reception, owing to the rogue-like’s fun and satisfying gameplay. One of its most controversial aspects however was its art style – which has now been completely revamped as part of the game’s upcoming update.

Set to arrive on the 21st of November, The Rogue Prince of Persia’s ‘Second Act’ update is its biggest yet, adding:

  • More biomes
  • More bosses
  • New story act + tons of narrative polish for Act 1
  • New enemies
  • Many Quality of Life additions including multiple save slots & more
  • German, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish localisation

By far the most interesting change/addition however is the alteration of the game’s art style – giving it a complete overhaul. As described by Evil Empire themselves, the team have “changed the colour palettes, had much more detail added and just generally improved” the game’s overall art direction.

Perhaps the most obvious change can be seen with the Prince himself, who is no longer shaded with a purple skin tone – as it “just didn't fit with the new direction.”

With this update, The Rogue Prince of Persia is said to now feature double the amount of content compared to its early access launch, and so there will be plenty to get stuck into when the update (alongside a sale) arrives on the 21st of November.
