Phasmophobia hit it big back in 2020 when the game was released in Early Access, launching to near immediate success. In the years since, the team at Kinetic Games have continued to work diligently on the game, improving it across the board. Unfortunately, the game’s long-anticipated console release had been delayed multiple times. Finally however, Phasmophobia is officially coming to consoles later this month.
Making the announcement as part of the game’s upcoming Halloween event, the team at Kinetic Games said “Finally, we’re excited to announce Phasmophobia’s early access console launch date! We’ll be releasing the game on PS5, PSVR2 and Xbox Series X/S on October 29, 2024 at 6PM UTC.”
They continued, “The console edition of the game will match the PC version and will receive future updates at the same time, ensuring constant access to cross play, meaning you’ll be able to team up with other Ghost Hunters no matter where you play. At launch, console players will be able to take part in the Blood Moon event alongside PC players, too.”
As mentioned, Phasmophobia was first slated to be coming to consoles all the way back in August of last year – however was impacted by an office fire, followed up by “unforeseen challenges in adapting the game for consoles.”
Given just how long Kinetic Games have been working on the console release now, it will undoubtedly be a massive sigh of relief when the game finally launches on the platforms later this month.
