This week we had learned that the team behind Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has been split up to support various other projects. Now thanks to leaks, which aren't uncommon for Ubisoft, we know that one of those projects is a long-awaited return to Rayman.
Ubisoft has been swiftly returning to some of its oldest franchises in the face of slowing sales. We already know that remakes for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Splinter Cell are on the way. Rumours also point to a remake for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Now, according to Insider Gaming, a Rayman remake is also actively being worked on.
According to the report, some former Lost Crown developers are also now working on the next Ghost Recon game, and surprisingly, Beyond Good and Evil 2. Despite being announced more than five years ago, Ubisoft has not had anything to show for Beyond Good and Evil 2 since its original reveal, so perhaps this is a sign that the game is now moving forward.
Given the amount of time it is taking to get the Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell remakes out, it could be years before we see this Rayman remake come to fruition.

KitGuru Says: A remake is all well and good but if it doesn't lead to renewed support of the franchise through sequels, then I see it as a wasted opportunity.
