With Battlefield currently being at a low point, there are many shooter fans looking elsewhere for their military-sim fix. Delta Force is stepping in for those exact fans, with an open beta kicking off very soon.
Delta Force is a new free-to-play revival of the classic shooter series. Delta Force has been around in various forms since the late 90s, with both fun campaigns and multiplayer modes. The new game, developed by TiMi Studios and published by Tencent, is due to release on consoles and mobile platforms in 2025.
Those of us on PC will get to play it earlier, which seems fitting for a series with such a long history on the PC platform. Starting on the 5th of December, an open beta will be freely available to download via the game's own launcher, or via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Tencent has already committed to launching the open beta with full live service content updates in place. With that in mind, those interested can jump in and start grinding without worrying about a potential progress reset.
The game will launch with a full campaign inspired by the film, Black Hawk Down, developed with Unreal Engine 5. The multiplayer mode is built to run on a wider range of hardware, utilising Unreal Engine 4 instead.

KitGuru Says: I used to play Delta Force back when I first started playing PC shooters, but Counter-Strike ended up winning over my time. Are any of you planning on trying out Delta Force when it drops in December?
