Intel Arc B580 is faster than the RTX 4060 on 3DMark Time Spy

Intel's Arc B580 is set to launch this week, but some users have already got their hands on these cards, allowing them to run benchmarks such as 3DMark Time Spy. If these early results are anything to go by, Nvidia's RTX 4060 might have a serious contender on its hands.

The leaked benchmark shared on Chiphell (via HXL) shows the Arc B580 achieving a graphics score of 14,719 in 3DMark Time Spy. This puts it comfortably ahead of the RTX 4060 and even surpasses Intel's previous generation Arc A770 and A750 GPUs. This score suggests the B580 is 31% faster than the RTX 4060 and 10% to 19% faster than the A770 and A750.

It's important to remember that Intel Arc GPUs tend to perform particularly well in synthetic benchmarks like 3DMark. Synthetic performance doesn't always translate directly to real-world gaming scenarios, so don't expect to see such a massive performance difference between Intel's upcoming GPU and the RTX 4060. In fact, Intel's official figures suggest a 10% performance advantage over the RTX 4060 at 1440p, and the gap could be even narrower at 1080p.

The leaked benchmark was reportedly conducted on a system with an Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, and another reviewer has corroborated its validity. With the Arc B580's official launch just days away, we're eager to see how it performs in real-world gaming tests, particularly at 1080p and 1440p resolutions, where the mainstream market is focused.

KitGuru says: How do you think the Arc B580 will compare against the previous generations' Intel Arc GPUs? What about compared to the RTX 4060?
