Following the success of Resident Evil Village, long-time producer at Capcom, Peter Fabiano, is stepping down from his role and heading over to a new studio. Moving forward, Fabiano will be working at Bungie, which is currently working on a new IP in addition to continued content for Destiny 2.
Fabiano was the founder of Global Production at Capcom Japan and took on a producer role for Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil Village and the remakes for Resident Evil 2 and 3. Fabiano announced his job change on Twitter this week, saying: “Hard to write this best so I’ve decided to keep it simple: Thank you everyone at Capcom for allowing me to grow together with you over the past 13 years. I’m thankful and will cherish the experience forever.”
Fabiano then goes on to confirm that he has taken “a new position at Bungie”, signing off by saying “eyes up Guardian”, which is a reference to Destiny, a series that he will likely be working on moving forward as Production Department Manager.
Perhaps we'll see some horror inspiration sneaking into Destiny 2's next expansions, starting with ‘The Witch Queen' in 2022 and followed up by ‘Lightfall' later on.
KitGuru Says: Given that Bungie is now juggling multiple major projects, it makes sense to bring in someone with so much experience for production management. Meanwhile at Capcom, the blueprint is there to continue making Resident Evil a massively successful franchise.
