The next Battlefield isn't set to be officially revealed until next week, but we've been given a small look at the game in action ahead of time. It looks like EA recently held a closed pre-alpha play test and sure enough, someone decided to take screenshots.
The images, which were shared on Imgur, show three in-game screenshots for the new Battlefield – one of a plane flying very close to a giant sandstorm, one showing a modern city skyline and another showing a helicopter being shot down.
One thing this does confirm is that this year's Battlefield will return to a modern setting, rather than being set during the World War era. This will be the first time that Battlefield has been set in modern day since Battlefield 4 and Hardline. As you can see in the gallery, black bars have been used to hide on-screen identifiers for the account used during the pre-alpha play test.
EA and DICE are set to officially reveal this year's Battlefield game on the 9th of June at 3PM BST.
KitGuru Says: Since this is pre-alpha footage, we can't really judge the graphics based on these screenshots. However, it is nice to see Battlefield returning to a modern setting. Are any of you looking forward to the next Battlefield?
