AMD is introducing new Radeon Pro GPUs to its line of workstation cards. The new batch of GPUs includes two desktop cards, the Radeon Pro W6800 and the Radeon Pro W6600, and a laptop variant, the Radeon Pro W6600M.
Aimed at engineering, design, and media workloads, the new Radeon Pro W6000 series cards are powered by AMD's RDNA2 GPU architecture (7nm), delivering a generational leap of about 79%. These new cards are also AMD's first workstation-oriented graphics cards supporting real-time raytracing and featuring Infinity Cache for improved bandwidth.
Compared to the Radeon Pro W5700, the Radeon Pro W6800 GPU offers almost two times the performance in architecture and engineering workloads, up to 46% faster in design and manufacturing workloads, and up to 55% more performance in media and entertainment workloads.
As for the W6600 card, AMD claims it can outperform the W5500 by as much as 37% in architecture and engineering workloads, and 38% in design and manufacturing workloads. In media and entertainment workloads, it can even beat the W5700 by up to 26%.
The following table details the three new Radeon Pro W6000 series GPUs:
GPU | Stream Processors/RT Accelerators | Peak FP32 Throughput | Infinity Cache | VRAM | Display Connectors | Peak Board Power | Price |
