Naraka: Bladepoint is a stylish 60-player melee-focused battle royale which uniquely positions itself in a sea of third-person BR shooters. As part of E3, the game was announced to be getting a worldwide release later this year, with an open beta taking place imminently.
Offering a lengthy gameplay trailer, the studio behind Naraka: Bladepoint, 24 Entertainment, revealed that the game will be launching on PC on the 12th of August – coming to both Steam and the Epic Games Store for £17.99 (offering Deluxe and Ultimate editions for £30.99 and £45.99 respectively).
Those who can’t wait to try out the game can partake in the open beta, which will take place from the 16th to the 22nd of June.
Naraka: Bladepoint is a 60-player Battle Royale “offering players insane mobility powered by parkour and grappling hook, a vast arsenal of melee and ranged weapons, and a roster of characters with powerful abilities—transform yourself into a gigantic Vajra Warrior and crush your enemies!”
While the game certainly offers its own unique take on the Battle Royale genre, with most BR games launching as free-to-play, it will be interesting to see how adoption is affected by being a premium product – and whether it can ultimately stand against the titans of the genre.
