Nvidia reportedly reduces RTX 2060 production in favour of RTX 30 series cards

Earlier this year, some reports claimed Nvidia would be re-launching the RTX 2060 and RTX 2060 Super to meet the worldwide demand for graphics cards. However, a new rumour suggests that is no longer the case, as Nvidia will reduce RTX 2060 production to further increase production capacity for RTX 30 series GPUs. 

Besides the RTX 2060 and 2060 Super GPUs, Nvidia had also re-launched some GTX 16 series cards. Despite relaunching old cards, prices of the RTX 30 series cards still increased to over 3x the MSRP in some cases. That, of course, scared away many customers as they didn't want to buy an overpriced product.

The rumour was initially shared by ITHome (via Wccftech) on a forum exclusive for members. As per this rumour, Nvidia will reduce the production of RTX 2060 cards and the shipments to AiB partners and shift its focus on increasing the output of RTX 30 series GPUs.

Nvidia has already announced ‘Lite Hash Rate' GPUs, which should improve RTX 30 series stock once they release due to their anti-mining capabilities. So, if Nvidia increases the production of RTX 30 series graphics cards, those interested may have a better chance of getting one soon.
