Metal Gear Rising: Revengence arrives DRM-free on GOG

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is a unique game even amongst the series it derives from, taking the tactical espionage action franchise and putting a ton of emphasis on the ‘action’ – thanks in part to contributions by PlatinumGames. Over a decade on from its initial release, the game has now been added to GOG on PC – bringing with it some DRM-free goodness.

Available right now on GOG.com with a promotional price of £11.99 (typically £19.99), Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance can now be owned DRM-free.

Unfortunately, despite how excellent the game itself is, the original PC port suffered from a number of issues, including an odd framerate cap, resolution adjustment issues and more.

It seems as though these quirks have not been fixed with the GOG release, and so you might need to install a user-made patch or two to get the full and uncompromised experience.

Still, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is an awesome game with a bombastic soundtrack and over-the-top combat / visuals – a treat for the eyes of anyone who has not experienced the game before.
