Halo Infinite’s first playtest may take place next weekend

343 Industries promised that Halo Infinite public playtests would kick off over the summer and sure enough, the studio is sticking to that. In this week's latest development update, 343 began detailing content for the first Halo Infinite flight, which would kick off as soon as next weekend.

The first Halo Infinite flight test will focus on the Bot Arena multiplayer mode, which puts 4 players against 4 AI bots. This technical test will use standard Halo ‘Slayer' rules and three maps – Bazaar, Recharge and Live Fire. All you need to do to participate is ensure you are signed up to the Halo Insider Program. Invites to flight tests will then be sent out periodically to members, currently this first test is going to target “hundreds of thousands” of players.

“We’ve been given the okay to say our first Bot-focused technical preview could happen as soon as next weekend,” 343 wrote. “Prior to the flight starting, we’re planning a live stream where we’ll dive into the actual build and walk through nearly every facet of the technical preview.”

This upcoming flight is just the first technical test, there will be many more in the lead-up to Halo Infinite's release, focusing on single-player and various multiplayer modes. Currently, Halo Infinite does not have an exact release date, but it should launch in November or possibly December this year.
