In recent weeks, rumours around EA Motive's next game have picked up steam. According to a new report this week, this upcoming game will be a Dead Space reboot, with a full remake of the original game, similar to the Recent Resident Evil remakes from Capcom.
According to VentureBeat's sources, EA Motive is “rebooting the franchise”, using the first game as a foundation and likely introducing new gameplay mechanics. Comparisons to Resident Evil 2 Remake are made, so expect some new elements throughout this new Dead Space title, not just a 1:1 remake.
While EA was moving on from single-player titles just a few years ago, the success of Respawn's Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has caused the publisher to rethink its stance. In recent years, Capcom has seen sales boom for the Resident Evil franchise, so EA wants to bring back its own beloved horror series.
As for when this Dead Space reboot might be announced, we still don't know. However, EA is holding an EA Play Live showcase later this month, so perhaps we'll get our first sneak peek then.

KitGuru Says: The original Dead Space is one of my favourite games of all time, so I just hope EA does right by the game with this reboot. Did many of you play Dead Space back in the day? What would you want to see in the reboot?
