While Valve's massive Dota 2 championship tournament, The International, was originally due to take place in Sweden this year, continued COVID-19 restrictions meant that the event needed to find a new host country. After months of searching, Valve has revealed that The International 10 will be taking place in Romania this year.
The International 10 – Dota 2 Championships will be held at Arena Nationala, the largest stadium in Romania. Teams from around the world will fly in for the tournament's Group Stage, which runs from the 7th to the 10th of October. From that point, remaining matches will be played on the Main Stage from October 12th.
On the 17th of October, the last two teams standing will face off in the finals, competing for the largest share of the tournament's $40 million prize pool.
Valve has not yet announced any information on ticket sales, but details on that are supposed to “come shortly”.
KitGuru Says: I don't watch esports very often, but there has always been something exciting about The International. Will any of you be tuning in for this year's tournament?
