While it is always exciting to find out the release date of an anticipated game, nowadays it seems as if almost every game gets delayed at least a couple times. Ubisoft is guilty of just that, delaying many of its previous games. Now, the publisher has delayed another title: Rainbow Six Extraction.
Making the announcement on its website, the Rainbow Six Extraction Development Team said “Our ambition with Rainbow Six Extraction is to deliver a full-fledged AAA experience that changes the way you play and think about cooperative games. With unique features like Missing In Action or The Sprawl, every mission is set to be a tense and challenging experience in which you’ll lead the elite operators of Rainbow Six in a fight against a lethal and evolving alien threat.”
With that, the team revealed that “we are embracing the opportunity to take additional time to bring this vision to life in the way it deserves in January 2022. We are confident this will ensure Rainbow Six Extraction is the immersive, cooperative, and thrilling experience we set out to create, and the one you aspire to play. We look forward to sharing more with you very soon!”
Rainbow Six Extraction has had an interesting development. The game was originally announced as Rainbow Six Quarantine back during E3 2019, with a release year set for 2020. Later in 2019, the game was pushed back to FY 2020-2021, then being delayed further to FY 2021-2022. Finally last month the game was revealed as Rainbow Six Extraction with a release date set for September of this year.
With how many times Rainbow Six Extraction has been delayed, it was surprising to see it get one more push back. Hopefully this delay is the game’s last.
