Bethesda’s Deathloop goes gold ahead of September release

We weren't sure if Deathloop was really going to make it out this year just a few months ago, but after last month's State of Play stream, all doubts were put to rest. Bethesda's first PS5 console exclusive has now gone gold ahead of its September release date.

Deathloop was originally going to come to PS5 and PC back in 2020, but it was pushed back to May 2021, and then delayed again to September 14th 2021. Now, after additional development time, the game has ‘gone gold', which essentially means that the game is content complete and ready to be put on disc for physical copies.

Of course, going gold doesn't always mean that work on the game is done, particularly nowadays when day-one patches are common. Still, it is a good milestone to reach and usually, this means the game will meet its scheduled release date. The one recent and notable exception to this has been Cyberpunk 2077, which was delayed again shortly after going gold.

Deathloop is a new game from Arkane Studios, putting players in the shoes of Colt, an assassin stuck in a time loop, while also being hunted by other assassins. In order to escape, you will need to use a mix of weapons and supernatural, Dishonored-style abilities to take out eight targets in one day.

KitGuru Says: Deathloop has potential to be very fun, although I don't think trailers for the game have showcased it particularly well. Are any of you planning on picking this up in September? Will you be getting it on PC or PS5?
