Intel ‘Alder Lake’ i9-12900K benchmark puts it ahead of the Ryzen 9 5950X

A known leaker has just shared some benchmark results for the Intel ‘Alder Lake' Core i9-12900K, and if these results are accurate, it will be quite the beast. The qualification sample of the processor was running at stock settings, using a water cooler to handle the heat.

According to RaichuOne, the upcoming Core i9-12900K scores over 810 points on the Cinebench R20 single-thread test and over 11600 points on the Cinebench R20 multi-thread test.

To compare these results, we will use the results we've obtained when we tested the Ryzen 9 5950X on Cinebench R20. In the single-core benchmark, the Core i9 outperforms the Ryzen 9 5950X by 24%, but the difference reduces to 13% in the multi-core benchmark.

Based on these results, the Core i9 processor could take the performance lead, although the chip did reportedly exceed 200W with full turbo frequency, so power consumption may be a drawback.

KitGuru says: Although we can't confirm these results, this leaker has a decent track record. Nonetheless, we still have quite a while to wait for any official Intel 12th Gen news.
