Samsung’s Odyssey Neo G9 boasts Mini LED panel, HDR 2000 and a 240Hz refresh rate

Samsung is about to launch its new flagship monitor, the Odyssey Neo G9. Featuring Quantum Mini LED technology and Quantum HDR 2000, the Odyssey G9 successor packs all the bells and whistles you could want from a gaming monitor and then some, just as long as you can afford the high price tag.

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is a curved gaming monitor using a 1000R Quantum Mini LED display with 2,048 dimming zones and a 12-bit colour depth. The monitor's brightness peaks at 2000 nits and features a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, offering Quantum HDR2000, raising the bar for HDR in gaming displays.

The Odyssey Neo G9 has a 32:9 aspect ratio and boasts 5120×1440 resolution, 1ms response time, and a 240Hz refresh rate. Moreover, it's certified by TÜV Rheinland with the Eye Comfort certificate and offers Nvidia G-Sync compatibility and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Other gaming-oriented features include Screen Size Optimizer, Black Equalizer, Low Input Lag Mode, Refresh Rate Optimizer, and Super Arena Gaming UX.

In the back of the monitor, users can find an infinity core lighting system with 52 colours and five lighting effects to choose from. To connect the Odyssey Neo G9 to a video source, you may use one of the two HDMI 2.1 connectors or the DisplayPort 1.4. There's also a 3.5mm audio jack and two USB ports. The included stand offers tilt, swivel and height adjustment capabilities, but there's also support for a VESA 100×100 wall mount.

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 will be available for pre-order starting July 29th, priced at $2500 (about £1800). The monitor is scheduled to launch globally on August 9th.
