Gigabyte's latest Aorus P1200W power supply stands out from the crowd in more ways than one, offering 80Plus Platinum efficiency and a customisable LCD display on the side of the unit. The screen can be used to display custom text, images, GIFs or video files, adding an extra layer of customisation to your build.
The Gigabyte Aorus P1200W is a fully modular power supply with 80-Plus Platinum certification, offering a 92% efficiency at 50% load (230V), and featuring Japanese capacitors for added reliability. This unit also comes with various protections, including OCP, OTP, OVP, OPP, UVP and SCP, preventing almost any unexpected situation from damaging the PSU.
The PSU's main selling point would be the massive LCD display on the side. Besides allowing users to add text, GIF, images, or videos, it can also be configured to display power consumption wattage, current, temperature, fan speed and other values of the PSU.
Featuring a 140mm fan inside, the Aorus P1200W was designed to offer a near-silent operation. The fan only starts spinning at 20% load (240W), rotating at the same speed up to 60% load (720W) and without generating much noise. Only after exceeding that, you'll see the fan spinning faster, therefore making more noise. Moreover, the fan features a “dust removal function”, which consists of rotating at high speed in the opposite direction to shake off the dust from the blades. This feature is executed each time you turn on the PC.
The cables included with the PSU offer a total of 10x PCI-E (6+2-pin) connectors, 6x peripheral connectors, 2x floppy connectors, 16x SATA connectors, 2x CPU AUX (4+4-pin) connectors, and a motherboard (20+4-pin) connectors. Pricing and availability have not been disclosed.
