Zenless Zone Zero surpassed 50 million downloads during launch weekend

MiHoYo / HoYoverse have had a meteoric rise in the past few years, with their debut console title Genshin Impact becoming one of the biggest free to play games around. Since then, the team has continued its string of successes with the launch of Honkai Star Rail – and now Zenless Zone Zero, which has been downloaded over 50 million times in less than 48 hours.

Making the announcement via Twitter, the official English ZZZ (Zenless Zone Zero) account revealed that: “Since its release, Zenless Zone Zero has reached 50 million downloads globally. A city that once only existed in the hopes and dreams of the dev team has never been as buzzing with life as it is now. Your patience and support have made New Eridu what it is today.”

As a celebration of this milestone, all players will be receiving a ‘thank you gift’ featuring 1600 Polychrome (one of the game’s currencies).

As mentioned, MiHoYo have been able to attract a massive audience for every single one of their console games so far, with Genshin Impact being an undeniable success, Honkai Star Rail amassing over 100 million downloads in less than a year and now ZZZ reaching 50 million in less than 48 hours. It’ll be interesting to see whether this latest release has just as much staying power as Genshin/Honkai.
