We finally have the first peek at the Ryzen 9 9950X. The upcoming CPU has recently been found on the Geekbench database, along with revised scores for the other Ryzen 9000 SKUs. The revised scores are overall lower than previous results shared, suggesting that the CPUs have been tested at stock settings.
The Ryzen 9 9950X (via VideoCardz) showcases its capabilities with 3,359 points in the single-core test and an impressive 20,550 points in the multi-core test, securing the highest multi-core result among all Zen 5 CPUs to date. However, its single-core benchmark falls short of the first 9900X score we shared a few days ago, indicating that the 9900X was overclocked in previous tests.
Moving on to the revised scores for the 9900X, we're looking at 3,231 points in the single-core test and a solid 18,064 points in the multi-core test. These scores imply that the 9900X is approximately 5% slower in single-core and 8.6% slower in multi-core performance than the supposed PBO-enabled SKU. Furthermore, the new 9700X entry also exhibits a slight drop in performance, with a 2% dip in single-core and a 5% decline in multi-core testing. Similarly, the 6-core variant shows a 3.4% and 7.5% performance reduction compared to the supposed PBO-enabled SKU.
It's important to remember that these comparisons are based on different systems, potentially with varying AGESA versions, which could be reason enough for the difference in performance. Moreover, it's worth noting that the 9950X result is from the Geekbench 6.3 benchmark, while the others are based on version 6.2.
