Halo Infinite gets December release date

Halo Infinite was curiously absent from Microsoft's Xbox Gamescom showcase last night. Now we know why, as a release date trailer is planned to be shown during Geoff Keighley's Opening Night Live show this evening.

While rumours previously indicated that Halo Infinite would release in November, Microsoft is hoping to get some distance from Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042. As a result, Halo Infinite will be releasing on the 8th of December, as reported by Aggiornamenti Lumia.

This release date seemingly comes via a Windows Store leak, which also notes that this is the launch date for the Infinite campaign, something that we've seen very little of since its initial gameplay unveiling in 2020.

Presumably, Halo Infinite's free to play multiplayer will also be available on the same date. Currently, 343 Industries has only announced delays to two classic Halo features – campaign co-op and forge mode, which will be arriving in 2022.

KitGuru Says: I've still got high hopes for Halo Infinite. Hopefully we'll see some new campaign footage during Opening Night Live this evening.
