Gamescom’s Future Games Show to feature over 40 titles

While video game announcements used to be centred around the Summer and E3, more and more video game events have been popping up in recent years. One such event is the Future Games Show. Taking place during Gamescom, 2021’s show is said to feature over 40 different games.

Microsoft recently announced their Gamescom plans. Likewise, the Future Games Show, organised by GamesRadar and in partnership with AMD, is officially returning in 2021. Taking place on the 26th of August at 9pm BST, the games showcase will feature more than 40 titles “from publishers including Frontier Developments, Team17, Koch Media and Tripwire Interactive, as well as a few surprises that'll make this another unmissable celebration of gaming.”

The showcase will be hosted by two of Resident Evil Village’s most standout characters: Lady Dimitrescu (Maggie Robertson) and The Duke (Aaron LaPlante). Speaking on the event, LaPlante said “As we start to move into the ‘new normal' it's incredible to think all the games you're playing now were developed, at least in part, in people's bedrooms, kitchens, and home offices. On August 26 myself and Maggie will be showing you what's still to come in 2021 and what to expect in 2022 and beyond. They haven't told me much, but from what I've seen so far there's something that will interest all of you.”

2020’s Future Games Show brought with it a number of breakout games, including Ghostrunner; Call of the Sea; Cris Tales; Remnant from the Ashes DLC; Kena: Bridge of Spirits and more. It will be interesting to see what is in store for 2021’s iteration.
