Final Fantasy VII Remake set to release on PC via the Epic Games Store

Back in June, the Epic Games Store was updated with hidden listings for Alan Wake Remastered and Final Fantasy VII Remake. At the time, neither game had been announced, but Alan Wake Remastered has appeared again this week with a launch coming up next month. With that title now confirmed, it looks like we can be sure that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be heading to PC.

Final Fantasy VII Remake first released last year and was planned to be exclusive to PlayStation consoles for one year. However, Sony and Square Enix extended the exclusivity period earlier this year with the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, which also introduced new content to the game.

Due to the PlayStation exclusivity period being extended, Square Enix has yet to officially announce Final Fantasy VII Remake for any other platforms. However, with the reveal of Alan Wake Remastered, the leak back in June now has credibility, making it highly likely that Final Fantasy VII Remake will be heading to the PC via the Epic Games Store too.

Epic Games and Square Enix forged a partnership earlier this year, bringing all the Kingdom Hearts games to PC via the Epic Games Store. This deal may also include Final Fantasy VII Remake, which should be available on PC in 2022.

KitGuru Says: I played a good chunk of Final Fantasy VII Remake on PS4, but I've been waiting on the PC version before diving back in and finishing the game. Are any of you hoping to see this game on PC in the near future? TGS isn't too far away, so perhaps we'll get an announcement then.
