Whenever a video game gets remade, it is quite often that a new voice actor will be chosen to play the roles of these reimagined characters. While it will have been almost a decade since the launch of Dead Space 3 when the remake finally releases, the main protagonist – Isaac Clarke – will once again be voiced by Gunner Wright, lending the game an increased sense of authenticity.
Making the announcement on twitter, the official Dead Space account said “Isaac has something to say. #DeadSpace” with the man himself taking to video to say ”I'm excited to announce that I'm reprising my role as Isaac Clarke for the remake of Dead Space 1. I wanna thank all of you for allowing me to give Isaac a voice. I can't wait to suit up, throw that rig on, and do my best to try to keep Isaac alive. In the words of Isaac Clarke: Stick around, I'm full of bad ideas.”

While it is exciting to see the original voice actor returning, it is interesting to see Clarke given a voice, considering in the first game he was completely silent.
Speaking on this, the team explained that “here are the rules the team talked about for Isaac’s dialogue: 1. Isaac will primarily only speak when spoken to. 2. Isaac will sometimes speak in a situation where it would feel weird if he remained silent” meaning that it should still feel respectful to the vibe of the first game. It will be interesting to see just how much it changes the atmosphere when the game releases.
