ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte and more expected to launch Intel Arc ‘Alchemist’ graphics cards

Intel has been working on its big push into the desktop graphics card market for several years and in just a few months, we'll see the first Intel Arc ‘Alchemist' graphics cards hitting shelves. While no board partners have announced their plans officially yet, it would seem that we know that at least ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte, three of the biggest AiBs, will be supporting Intel's launch.

According to MyDrivers, ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte, amongst others, will launch Intel Arc discrete graphics cards. We'll see cards based on reference designs from Intel at first, but we would also expect to see some custom-cooled solutions too.

ASUS has already been involved with Intel's graphics division recently, having released an entry-level custom Iris Xe discrete GPU, based on the Xe DG1 architecture. Videocardz also reports having sources that have confirmed that Intel has approached MSI about building graphics cards for DG2-based GPUs.

Intel has only revealed a small portion of its plans for Intel Arc GPUs, which are set to launch in early 2022. We should see more revealed officially during CES in January, although there is a good chance we see a few leaks before then as well.

KitGuru Says: Many AiBs also make motherboards and other products for both Intel and AMD based systems. With that in mind, we would expect Intel's biggest partners to be on board with its upcoming GPU launch. Hopefully we'll have more information soon enough.
