Asus ROG has shared more details on its upcoming Azoth Extreme, a 75% gaming keyboard first shown at Computex 2024. This keyboard has a precision-crafted aluminium alloy chassis and metal frame that exalt its premium-looking aesthetics above what you would expect from mainstream keyboard brands.
Asus claim the aluminium alloy chassis undergoes a 12-step production process, including sandblasting, anodising, and CNC machining. Paired with the ROG Polling Rate Booster, the Azoth Extreme achieves an impressive 8000 Hz polling rate while offering up to 1600 hours of battery life. The 1.47-inch full-colour OLED offers detailed information such as keyboard connection status, Caps Lock, and PC/Mac mode indicators. Users can tap and swipe on the high-resolution screen to access additional functionalities, including hardware information and Key Presses per Second (KPS) functionality.
The Azoth Extreme also uses other premium materials, including a carbon-fibre positioning plate. This choice offers a combination of metal-like hardness for a sharp typing experience and flexibility for shock absorption, reducing vibrations during typing. Additionally, the Azoth Extreme features three dampening layers, including two Poron layers and a silicone cushion, further absorbing vibrations and reducing switch pinging. The keyboard's revolutionary gasket-mount design ensures users can easily modify the typing sensation with a quick-flip switch, allowing users to choose between the Hard and Soft modes.
In addition, the Azoth Extreme is equipped with pre-lubed ROG NX mechanical switches (linear Snow/clicky Storm). This is complemented by a three-way knob for easy volume, multimedia, settings adjustments, and lighting customisation. Offering versatile connectivity, users can connect their devices via Bluetooth, low-latency ROG SpeedNova 2.4 GHz RF wireless, or standard USB cable. The inclusion of a silicone wrist rest, magnetic feet, and varied tilt adjustments allows users to adjust the keyboard's ergonomics to their liking. The keyboard will be available for $499.99
