MSI has recently announced the world's first Human-Machine Interface (HMI) gaming monitor – the MEG381CQR Plus, packing a secondary display and more intuitive controls through a gaming dial. Aside from the addition of HMI, this particular monitor also includes all the bells and whistles you would want from a premium gaming display, including high refresh rate, high resolution, G-Sync Ultimate and low response times.
Unlike most curved monitors, the MEG381CQR Plus uses a 38-inch IPS panel, featuring a 175Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and a 3840×1600 resolution. With a 10-bit colour depth, 1000:1 contrast ratio and up to 600 nits of brightness, the MEG381CQR Plus can cover 96.2% of the DCI-P3 gamut and 128.7% of the sRGB spectrum. It also boasts DisplayHDR 600 certification, so you can jump straight into HDR-supported PC games without issue. The monitor also supports Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate, so GeForce graphics card users will get a tear-free gaming experience.
For the unparalleled tear-free gaming experience, the MEG381CQR Plus support Nvidia G-Sync Ultimate technology. Additionally, the MEG381CQR Plus can improve your gaming experience through the built-in mouse bungee, preventing your mouse cable from getting in your way, and your streaming setup, thanks to the camera cradle on top of the monitor.
There are other convenient gaming-oriented features packed in too, including a built-in mouse bungee to prevent cable drag, a camera cradle on top of the monitor for easy webcam placement for video calls or streaming, and of course, there is HMI, which consists of a secondary screen and a gaming dial. With HMI, users can adjust monitor settings easily and more intuitively. MSI's partnership with SteelSeries continues too with the inclusion of GameSense, allowing you to synchronise the RGB lighting on the back of the monitor with whatever game you are playing.
The included stand has tilt, pivot and height adjustment, but the monitor also supports VESA 100x100mm mounting should you prefer a third-party monitor arm. For I/O, the monitor includes 2x HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, a mic-in, an audio-out, a mic-in upstream and a USB hub with 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen1 and a USB-B 3.2 Gen1 port.

KitGuru says: Overall, this looks to be a very feature-packed monitor with lots of conveniences baked in. Whether or not those will be worth the price still remains to be seen, but even ignoring that, this is still a very high-spec monitor, with HDR, a near 4K resolution and high refresh rate.
