EK announces new Quantum Vector RTX 3080/3090 FE full metal water blocks

If you've been fortunate enough to get hold of an RTX 3080/3090 Founders Edition graphics card, then you might be considering water-cooling. Today, EK is introducing the new Quantum Vector full metal water blocks for these graphics cards and while they are already very different from other blocks aesthetically, the biggest difference can be found under the shroud — a hybrid cooling solution that actively cools the backplate.

First, we have the Special Edition Quantum Vector RTX 3090 FE full metal water block, the most complex GPU cooling solution developed by EK to date. Focused on delivering in terms of aesthetics and performance, this black features D-RGB lighting and a hybrid cooling solution for the actively cooled backplate. The block uses an “extremely thick copper base”, offering enough clearance for all PCB components, and the largest cooling engine ever built by EK, with 30% more fin area than other Vector water blocks.

Moving to the Special Edition Quantum Vector RTX 3080 FE full metal water block, it's extremely similar to the RTX 3090 version, featuring the same hybrid cooling solution, a copper base and a better cooling engine. However, it is more compact due to the smaller PCB used by the RTX 3080 Founders Edition graphics card.

Both blocks include a single-slot I/O shield with special screws that even out weight distribution, and EPDM O-rings to prevent leaks. On the side, you find 2x G1/4″ ports and 4x G1/4″ ports going through the block. The Quantum Vector RTX 3080/3090 full metal water blocks are available to pre-order already, priced at €289.90 for the RTX 3080 and €349.90 for the RTX 3090. Shipments are expected to begin in mid-October for the RTX 3080 block and late October for the RTX 3090 block.
