Microsoft’s Windows 11 PC health check app just got a lot more helpful

As Microsoft gets ready to officially launch Windows 11 in just a couple of weeks, the PC Health Check app has been improved to give you more details on why your PC may not be compatible with Windows 11.

The app's first version was released in June, but back then, it didn't specify why a system wasn't compatible with the upcoming OS. Instead, users were met with a vague message stating that the PC is not compatible with Windows 11, leaving potential upgraders with a frustrating lack of information on what they need to do in order to meet Microsoft's requirements. In many cases, PCs were ruled out due to not having TPM 2.0 enabled, which can be done through a hardware chip, or via software within a motherboard BIOS.

Fortunately, Microsoft decided to update the app to be more precise on why a system isn't capable of running Windows 11. When you choose to check if your system is compatible with Windows 11, the app gives you a checklist of all the requirements and shows if your system meets them or not.

For example, if your system doesn't have TPM 2.0 enabled or doesn't support the technology, the new PC Health Check app redirects you to a web page so you can learn how to turn it on. The same happens for any requirement your system doesn't meet, directing users to the information they need in order to make the jump to Windows 11.
