Just as leaks suggested, last night during Nintendo Direct, Bayonetta 3 finally resurfaced, four years after initially being announced. This time around, we have a proper trailer packed with plenty of in-game footage and gameplay, as well as a release date.
PlatinumGames is back, with Bayonetta 3's development being led by Yusuke Miyata, the director behind The Wonderful 101 and Switch-exclusive, Astral Chain. Following the trailer reveal, Hideki Kamiya took to Twitter to thank fans, and even offered to not block non-Japanese tweets due to his good mood. For those who don't know, Kamiya is notorious for making quick use of the block function on Twitter.
The full trailer is several minutes long, giving us a good look at what's in store for us. While Kamiya is not directing the third game in the series, he is overseeing the story and has input on the world, art direction etc, so the series won't lose its signature style.
Bayonetta 3 doesn't have a specific release date yet, but it will be coming out in 2022. With Bayonetta 3 now confirmed, next year is looking stacked for Nintendo Switch exclusives, as we'll see Bayonetta 3, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 and Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope all within the same year.
KitGuru Says: This has been a long time coming, but Bayonetta 3 is finally on the way and we got a meatier trailer than expected too. What did you all think of the Bayonetta 3 reveal last night? Will you be picking this up on the Switch next year?
