Intel Arc Alchemist GPU line-up expected to include three SKUs

New reports this week claim that the Intel Arc Alchemist GPU series will consist of three SKUs, from which two are based on the same GPU. These GPUs will be divided up based on the number of execution units (EUs), with the top-end GPU using 512 EUs, with the remaining two GPUs having 384 EUs and 128 EUs respectively.

According to Moore's Law is Dead, the three SKUs will come with 512, 384, and 128 EUs. The 512EU-GPU is expected to come with the full die enabled, while the 384-EU GPU will come with a cut-down version of the 512-EU GPU die. Some 448-EU GPU samples were also tested, but the leaker isn't sure they will be featured in the final line-up, raising the possibility that this might be a laptop SKU. As for the 128-EU GPU, it will use a different die from the other Arc SKUs.

Apparently, the 512-EU GPU will be clocked between 2.2GHz and 2.5GHz, and will feature 16GB of GDDR6 memory clocked at 16Gbps across a 256-bit memory bus. The samples being sent to partners of this GPU feature an 8+6 PCIe power connector, and the TDP should be below the 235W mark. Performance-wise, it's expected to battle with the RTX 3070.

The second SKU will be a cut down version of the same GPU with 384-EUs enabled. It's expected that this GPU will use a 192-bit memory bus and up to 12GB of GDDR6 memory, delivering performance around the same level as an RTX 3060 or RTX 3060 Ti.

Lastly, the 128-EU GPU is said to be clocked at 2.2-2.5GHz and feature either 4/8GB of memory on a 64-bit bus. Power consumption should be below 75W, and it's expected to rival the likes of the GTX 1650 and 1650 Super, but with ray-tracing capabilities.

We don't have any specific release date or pricing information yet, although sources claim Intel will price its GPUs ‘aggressively'. Intel is expected to officially launch its first Arc graphics cards in early 2022.
