ASUS is adding a new TUF Gaming monitor to its ranks this week. The new VG30VQL1A offers a curved, 21:9 display with a blazing fast 200Hz refresh rate, enabling smoother performance in games, particularly competitive titles like CS:GO, Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends etc.
The VG30VQL1A uses a curved (1500R) VA panel with a 2560×1080 resolution, 200Hz refresh rate and 1ms MPRT when Asus ELMB (Extreme Low Motion Blur) is enabled. This panel has an 8-bit colour depth, 300nits of typical brightness and a 3000:1 contrast ratio, allowing it to cover 127% of the sRGB colour space. The spec sheet states the monitor can playback HDR10+ content, although there is no DisplayHDR certification.
Like most monitors of today, it features both flicker-free technology and low blue light mode to reduce eye strain and FreeSync Premium for a tearless gaming experience. Moreover, users may enable Variable Overdrive technology, allowing the monitor to change the overdrive setting depending on the framerate to reduce ghosting. Other gaming-oriented features include Shadow Boost, GamePlus overlay suite and various colour presets.
For connectivity, you'll find 2x HDMI 2.0 ports and a DisplayPort 1.2. There's also a USB hub with 2x USB 3.0 ports, a 3.5mm earphone jack and 2x 2W internal speakers. The included ergonomic stand allows for height, tilt and swivel adjustments.
