Forza Horizon 5 PC system requirements and PC-specific features announced

Forza Horizon 5 is just over a month away from release, so today as part of the Tokyo Game Show, Playground Games revealed the PC system requirements for the game, complete with a minimum, recommended and a very high-end ‘ideal' specification that calls for an RTX 3080. Beyond that, PC-specific features and supported racing wheels have also been announced.

Forza Horizon 5 was first announced at E3 in June, taking the series to Mexico. With the PC version, you can expect support for 21:9 displays, unlocked frame rates, an FoV slider and of course, support for popular racing wheels from the likes of Logitech, Thrustmaster and Fanatec. At launch, the following wheels will be supported:

  • Logitech: Driving Force, G25, G27, G29, G920, G923PS, G923XB, Momo
  • Thrustmaster: Ferrari 458, T150 RS, T300 RS, T500 RS, TMX, T-GT, TS-XW, TX, TS-PC
  • Fanatec: V1, V2, V2.5, CSL, CSL DD, DD1, DD2, Universal HUB device

As for PC system requirements, the game is relatively accessible with its minimum spec, which calls for:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 1200 or Intel Core i5-4460
  • RAM: 8GB
  • GPU: Radeon RX 470 or Nvidia GTX 970
  • HDD: 110GB

The recommended spec makes the jump to:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1500X or Intel Core i5-8400
  • RAM: 8GB
  • GPU: Radeon RX 590 or Nvidia GTX 1070
  • HDD: 110GB

The ideal spec, which we assume targets 4K/60FPS at high settings, calls for:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT or Intel Core i7-10700K
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: Radeon RX 6800 XT or Nvidia RTX 3080
  • SSD: 110GB

While ray-tracing is technically in the game, it is not available during standard gameplay. Ray-tracing effects are only applied in the Forzavista mode, where you can take a closer look at the cars in full detail.

Forza Horizon 5 is releasing on the 9th of November and will be available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. While you can buy the game via Steam or the Microsoft Store, it will also be available through Xbox Game Pass on all available platforms.
