Back 4 Blood is the newest game from Turtle Rock Studios, and the spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead series of games. It seems demand for a new Left 4 Dead has grown sufficiently strong ever since the release of 2 back in 2009, as Back 4 Blood has officially surpassed 6 million players.
Making the announcement on Twitter, the official Back 4 Blood account said “Thanks for all your hard work, Cleaners! With this many Cleaners on our side, we'll stop the Ridden in no time.”
Alongside this, the team revealed that Back 4 Blood has managed to reach over 6 million players. While a massive achievement – especially considering the game has only been out for two weeks – the game is available on Xbox Game Pass; undoubtedly skewing these figures somewhat.

Officially, Xbox Game Pass has over 18 million monthly subscribers – though this figure could actually be as high at 30 million. It would certainly be interesting to see just how many of the 6 million players did so through Game Pass.
As mentioned, Back 4 Blood is a spiritual successor to the Left 4 Dead franchise, in many ways only being different by name. Even so, while general reception was positive, the game has been receiving a greater deal of criticism than Left 4 Dead ever had to endure. Still with post-launch content on its way, and 6 million players already having played the game, Back 4 Blood is looking to be an early success.
