Leaked Intel Core i7-12700K CPU-Z benchmark scores show promising results

We've seen a number of leaks regarding the Intel Core i9-12900K in recent weeks, but this time around, we finally have some results for the Core i7-12700K thanks to a leaked CPU-Z screenshot.

Compared to the i9-12900K, the i7-12700K feature four less efficient cores and should come with slightly lower clock speeds, but according to the leaked scores shared by @TUM_APISAK, these differences won't create a significant performance gap between the two. As per the screenshot showing the CPU-Z scores, the Core i7-12700K scored 800.2 points in the single-core test and 9423.2 in the multi-core test.

Compared to the leaked scores of the i9-12900K, the Core i7 CPU was just 3% slower in the single-core benchmark. Unfortunately, we can't compare the multi-core scores of both CPUs with precision, but we can say that the Core i7 scores just below a stock 12-core Ryzen 9 5900X (9500 points).

It's worth noting that we don't know if this processor was overclocked during the CPU-Z runs or not, nor if it was using DDR4 and DDR5 memory, which might also affect scores.

KitGuru says: We're seeing some impressive single-core results from these recent leaks, but we'll have to wait for reviews to get a better idea of real-world performance. Are any of you thinking of upgrading to Alder Lake-S at launch?
