Sony teases PlayStation 5 Pro design

Last week, we reported on the start of Sony’s 30th anniversary PlayStation celebrations, featuring teasers for some of the promotions, products and plans for the console’s milestone birthday. In a surprising move, Sony appears to have taken this opportunity to sneakily tease, for the first time, the existence of the long-rumoured PS5 Pro – confirming the console’s updated design.

With a few months to go until the official 30th birthday of the OG PlayStation One, Sony have shared some of their plans for this impending milestone, already announcing upcoming game trials; free multiplayer weekends and more.

The header image for the blog post features a simple graphic which includes the PlayStation’s ‘sacred symbols’ in the background composed of dozens of different PlayStation consoles, controllers and accessories.

Interestingly, eagle-eyed fans discovered that right in the centre of the image is what appears to be the leaked design of the upcoming PlayStation 5 Pro – confirming its 3-striped appearance.

Whether this was done in response to the aforementioned leaked design, or if PlayStation always planned to tease the console this way, it certainly marks a new and interesting strategy by Sony.

Given the fact that the console may be mere days away from an official announcement, we will hopefully get a full on reveal of this long-rumoured and anticipated console refresh very soon.
