Though in many ways it feels like just yesterday, Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost of Tsushima is now officially 4 years old. In this time, the brand new IP has gone from strength-to-strength, breaking PlayStation records and becoming a franchise into itself – despite just having one game so far. 4 years on from the release of the game which put Sucker Punch on the map, the team are now celebrating Ghost of Tsushima’s latest anniversary.
Taking to Twitter, the official Sucker Punch Productions page shared the following:
“Today marks the four-year anniversary of the launch of #GhostOfTsushima. It's been a wild ride since then, including Legends, the Director's Cut, and the recent PC release. We are constantly humbled by the outpouring of love for our game, and we sincerely thank everyone who has played. We'd love to hear your stories and experiences from the game. Please share your favourite moments with us.”
While it would have been nice for this anniversary to coincide with some form of surprise update or even a couple PSN avatars, the team are clearly busy working on what is almost certainly Ghost of Tsushima 2.
And so while the celebrations may be rather mild, this might represent the calm before the storm that is Ghost of Tsushima 2’s official announcement. Hopefully we won’t have to wait until GoT’s 5th birthday to find out more from the sequel.
