With Star Wars: Outlaws set to release in just over a month, much discussion has been had regarding the upcoming licensed game and its contemporaries. With that, industry analysts Circana have now released the list of best selling Star Wars games of all time (in the US).
Publishing the list to Twitter, Circana’s Mat Piscatella offered an insightful look at the performance of the Star Wars brand in video games, saying “I was reminded that I need to publish an updated list of best-selling Star Wars games. So, here's an updated list of best-selling Star Wars games. US best-selling Star Wars games – Lifetime dollar sales (Jan 1995 through May 2024).”
With that, the top 10 best-selling Star wars games of all time is as follows:
- Star Wars: Battlefront (2015)
- Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order
- Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017)
- LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
- LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed
- Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005)
- Star Wars: Jedi: Survivor
- LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy
- LEGO Star Wars
It is interesting to see both Star Wars Battlefront I and II sitting in the top 3, especially as 2017’s title in particular is now infamous for its mishandling of loot boxes; breaking records for EA by having the most disliked Reddit comment of all time.
What isn’t surprising is just how many LEGO games are present within the top 10. It makes a great deal of sense now as to why so many LEGO versions of Star Wars have been made, even going so far as to wholly remake the older games with ‘The Skywalker Saga’ – which clearly worked out for them.
With the best-selling Star Wars games being primarily published by EA and LEGO, it will be interesting to see where Ubisoft’s Star Wars: Outlaws places on this list when all is said and done.
