Over the weekend, KitGuru was invited to check out the latest gaming monitors hitting the market over the next few months. We covered AOC's new flagship AGON Pro line-up and now, our attention turns to new Philips Momentum gaming displays, designed with console gaming in mind.
The Philips Momentum series of monitors was refreshed in 2020, offering 4K/120Hz displays in preparation for new-gen consoles, like the Xbox Series X/S and PS5. The line-up was expanded earlier this year with Philips joining the ‘Designed for Xbox' partnership program.
The gaming scene changed dramatically last year with the implementation of HDMI 2.1 and the introduction of next-gen consoles, paving the way for 4K/120Hz gaming on consoles for the first time. The first Philips Momentum display Designed for Xbox launched just a few months ago, offering a huge 55-inch panel. Now, smaller options are joining the roster, including a 32-inch model and a 27-inch model, both pictured in the gallery above.
Philips Momentum Designed for Xbox console gaming monitors are built to provide the ultimate experience for next-gen console gamers by including the new HDMI 2.1 input, which enables next-gen console gaming with 4K resolution and a fast 120Hz refresh rate. Variable refresh rate is also supported, lowering latency and providing smoother, tear-free gameplay.
The Philips Momentum 329M1RV supports DisplayHDR 400, while the 279M1RV makes the jump to DisplayHDR 600, so you can utilise all of the visual enhancements made available on the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 consoles. Of course, you can also hook up a PC and enjoy all of these benefits too.
The Philips Momentum 329M1RV and 279M1RV will be available starting in November 2021, priced at £899.99 and £719.99 respectively.
