Battlefield 2042 day-one patch detailed, two more patches promised over next month

Battlefield 2042 has been available in early access for a little while now, but DICE will be pushing out a big patch today in time for the game's official launch. This patch will aim to address the “critical issues” that have lingered since the game's open beta.

Battlefield 2042 officially releases today, alongside the day-one patch. This update addresses “some critical issues” that were identified just before the game's early access launch, with two more patches to come over the next month to address more bugs.

Some of these fixes include server-side upgrades, reduced instances of stuttering, correctly displaying ally names in-game, animation fixes, and some bug fixes specific to the game's Hazard Zone and Portal modes.

In the 30 days following release, barring any delays, there will be two more updates “delivering more fixes and improvements” that DICE has identified during the game's first week in early access. From the sounds of it, the early access release acted as a second open beta for the game, as the initial beta back in October used a build that was “months old”.

KitGuru Says: The Battlefield 2042 open beta left us with plenty of concerns and it seems there are still lingering issues. Have any of you played Battlefield 2042 since its early access launch? What has your experience been like?
