PlayStation is seemingly no longer promoting Call of Duty following Activision scandal

The situation regarding Activision Blizzard has continually been going from bad to worse. The latest issue saw Activision CEO Bobby Kotick being revealed to have known about the sexual harassment issues within the company and did nothing. Following this, it seems Sony may have stopped promoting Call of Duty in response.

As noted by CharlieIntel, following the report that PlayStation’s CEO sent an email to Activision Blizzard regarding the issue surrounding the company's recent allegations, the console manufacturer has now removed Call of Duty Vanguard from the featured section of their website.

Previously, taking up almost the entire screen would be the picture of Call of Duty Vanguard with a ‘Buy Now’ button front and centre. Following this recent report, however, the featured section now instead shows a generic PlayStation banner.

While this of course could be mere coincidence, Vanguard’s sudden removal is odd, and as typically the featured section would be continually promoting products and not simply the PlayStation brand, it suggests that this may have been a sudden decision.

Of course, while Call of Duty Vanguard – and every other Activision game – is still available on the store, it does show that PlayStation are distancing themselves from the company; the only question is how far will they go? PlayStation CEO Jim Ryan previously claimed to be “disheartened and frankly stunned” by the reports, and so with that in mind, this action appears to be intentional.
