Just yesterday, we showed you the first Geekbench 5 entry of the Intel Core i7-12700H. Today, we came to share the first entry of a different Intel Alder Lake mobile processor, the Core i7-12800H.
Compared to the Core i7-12700H, the i7-12800H entry (via @Benchleaks) shows both CPUs have the same core configuration (14C/20T), but the base clock frequency is 100MHz higher, set at 2.8GHz. Maximum boost frequencies, however, seem to have been misread, displaying 28.3GHz. This is clearly a misreading, but considering what we know about the i7-12700H and the i9-12900HK, the maximum turbo frequency should be somewhere between 4.6GHz and 5.0GHz.

The tested system was a Gigabyte Aorus 15 YE4 laptop with 16GB of RAM. In the Geekbench 5 single-core benchmark, this system scored 1,654 points, putting it at about 12% faster than the Core i7-11800H and 25% faster than the Ryzen 7 5800H. As for the multi-core test, the system scored 9,618 points, meaning the Core i7-12800H is about 20% faster than the Core i7-11800H and 37% faster than the Ryzen 7 5800H.
Intel is expected to announce the Alder Lake mobile processor line-up in early 2022.
KitGuru says: The Alder mobile line-up is looking to be somewhat stacked, with three processors featuring the same 14C/20T core configuration, with just slight differences in clock frequencies. Out of these three processors, which looks to be the best suited for you?
