Earlier this week, I shared my experience with the Halo Infinite Battle Pass so far, pointing out its painfully slow progression and the lack of per-match XP. 343 Industries was quick to address this, stating that an update will arrive later this week to begin to address the problems. As promised, a patch arrived last night, adding in per-match XP and making some other changes.
From now on, Halo Infinite players will get 50 XP for completing a match on a per-match basis. The Challenge Deck has also been tinkered with, resolving issues with several challenges that weren't tracking progress correctly. Some of these challenges include; Heat of the Moment, It Bears Repeating, Jorge Would Be Proud and Ultra Tech.
Due to these changes, all daily and weekly challenges have been reset, but to make up for this inconvenience, the developers are giving a Sigil Mark VII Visor armour piece to all players who log in between the 23rd and 30th of November.
The final change here is a buff to XP boosts, which will now last for a full hour, rather than just 30 minutes.
As great as all of this sounds, 50 XP per match may still be a little on the low side, as it would take you 20 matches to unlock a tier on the Battle Pass without completing other challenges centred around using different weapons or vehicles. With that in mind, depending on player feedback, there could be more changes to come.
KitGuru Says: These changes will speed up progression a bit, but perhaps not as much as players want. At the very least though, progression will be more consistent, but we could still do with XP bonuses or additional challenges for earning performance medals in those matches.
